Senior Partner

Mr. deVeer joined Ares in May 2004 and serves as a Senior Partner in the Private Debt Group of Ares. He is a member of the Investment Committee of Ares Capital Management and as a director and member of the Investment Committee of Ares Capital Europe Limited. Prior to joining Ares, Mr. deVeer was a partner at RBC Capital Partners, a division of Royal Bank of Canada, which led the firm's middle market financing and principal investment business. Mr. deVeer joined RBC in October 2001 from Indosuez Capital, where he was Vice President in the Merchant Banking Group. Mr. deVeer has also worked at J.P. Morgan and Co., both in the Special Investment Group of J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. and the Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. Mr. deVeer received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
