Portfolio Manager

Ms. Marano joined Ares in January 2010 in the Private Debt Group and serves as a Portfolio Manager. Previously, Ms. Marano was the Chief Risk Officer at FirstLight Financial Corporation (FLFC) where she was responsible for the oversight and managing of FLFC’s loan portfolio. Prior to joining FLFC, Ms. Marano was a Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management – Mezzanine Fund. Here she managed the fund’s middle market senior bank loan investment effort and was a member of the credit committee. Prior to joining Oaktree Capital Management, Ms. Marano was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at GSO Capital Partners. There she managed approximately $4.5 billion in assets across 9 CLO’s and a separate account and was a member of the Investment Committee. Ms. Marano also had prior roles at RBC Capital, Credit Agricole Indosuez (Indosuez Capital) and was credit trained at Chemical Bank. Ms. Marano received her B.B.A., in finance, cum laude, and her MBA in finance from Hofstra University.
