As of March 31, 2013 Ares Capital’s portfolio had a fair value of approximately $6.0 billion, and consisted of 156 portfolio companies backed by 97 different private equity sponsors. Ares Capital has a diversified portfolio in terms of issuer concentration, asset class, industry sector and geographic representation.

As of March 31, 2013, the Senior Secured Loan Program had loans to 37 different borrowers. The portfolio companies in the Senior Secured Loan Program are in industries similar to companies in ARCC's portfolio.
