Mr. deVeer is a Director and Co-President of Ares Management Corporation. He is a Co-Chair of the Ares Operating Committee and is a member of several of the firm's Investment Committees. He also serves as a Director and Executive Vice President of Ares Capital Corporation and previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ares Capital Corporation from July 2014 to April 2025. He is a Trustee and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ares Strategic Income Fund. From July 2014 to February 2026, Mr. deVeer served as the Head of the Ares Credit Group. Prior to joining Ares in 2004, Mr. deVeer was a partner at RBC Capital Partners, a division of Royal Bank of Canada, which led the firm's middle market financing and principal investment business. Earlier in his career, he held various roles at Indosuez Capital and J.P. Morgan. Mr. deVeer serves on the Boston College Board of Regents and the Board of Advisors at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. Mr. deVeer received a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.
